Eloor community to form a human chain across Periyar for an Emergency Exit!
The Eloor Ferry Residence Association (EFRA) has submitted a petition to the Central government and the concerned authorities of the government of Kerala demanding an emergency exit for the residents of Eloor Island in case of an industrial tragedy. In the past when many such tragedies happened in Eloor the island witness massive flow of people from different parts of Eloor frantically looking for an Exit route where the land is closed between the river and the polluting industries.
In order to intensify the struggle for an Emergency Exit and to create awareness among the people of Eloor.
The Eloor Ferry Residence Association (EFRA) has decided to form a human chain across the River Periyar near Eloor Ferry on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 3pm.

WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL DAY 2010 AND THE INAGURATION OF DARE
The Dream come to truth
The DARE( Developing Actions for Rescuing Earth ) an initiative by the pass out students of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, were inaugurated by Dr. Branson Corri (CCF Biodiversity) on World Environment Day 2010. As the first initiative DARE distributed 250 saplings to Eloor ferry Residence Association (EFRA) along with Malayala Manorama 'Boomikoru kuda' programme. Dr. Branson Corri handed over a sapling to DARE president Mr. Bibin Jose as a symbol of growth of green culture within the youngsters. Periyar Rivar Keeper Mr. VJ Jose, Rotary Cochin Beach side President Rtn. Sunil, EFRA president Mr.K.G Francis, DARE SecretaryMiss Rumana Navabjan were addressed the gathering on the function
